First Timer's Meeting

Spent the morning at Dana-Farber - we had our First Timer's Meeting. All the people who have never done the DFMC (Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge). We make up about 60% of the entire DFMC team. There was a range of ages and running experience represented - but it's clear we are all there to fight cancer.

We have a huge team goal - to average $8700 per runner. That's a lot of money - and in a lousy economy too. But as one person said - who doesn't want to give? Especially knowing that 100% of the money the runners raise goes straight to research. That's right - no overhead, no administrative costs. There's no other program like that.

Today I learned that 1 in 3 people will get cancer. That's horrific.

Every person had a very personal reason to run. Some were very hard to hear - and some were success stories.

I'd like a lot more success stories please.
